Valentine’s Treats From TRACE

TRACE Pastry Chef, Janina O’Leary shows off some of the restaurants treats featured on their Valentine’s Day Menu. nStrawberry Shortcake Recipe:nVanilla CakenIngredientsn1 cup white sugarn1/2 cup buttern2 eggsn2 teaspoons vanilla extractn1 1/2 cups all-purpose flourn1 3/4 teaspoons baking powdern1/2 cup milkn1 Vanilla BeannPinch of saltnDirectionsnPreheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners. nIn a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan. nBake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.nStrawberriesn· 1 pint of strawberries n· 1 tablespoon orange Juice n· 1 vanilla bean n· 1/4 cup sugarnDirectionsn1. Cut Strawberries in halven2. Toss in sugar Orange juice and vanilla n3. Let sit for 10 min. nVodka Whip Creamn· 1 pint of Heavy Creamn· 2 Tablespoons sugar n· 2 Tablespoons Pinnacle VodkanDirectionsn1. Whip Cream on kitchen aid to soft peaks, add vodka and sugar and continue to whip to desired stiffnessn*When Cake is cooled Layer with strawberries and Vodka Whip cream (or serve on the side)
