Root beer and footlongs
hot dogs can make for a good weekend, and it’s kept one local business alive since the 50′s. the root beer stand in sharonville celebrates its 55th birthday this year. and some of the same people who went there then, are still going back today for footlong hot dogs and cold mugs of root beer. local 12′s joe webb spent the day in a spot that is so cincinnati. it’s noon onriday and the root beer stand is slammed. walll-to- wall inside. a crowd eating at the picnic tables around back. the stand is only open six months a year, and when it’s open they pack them in. sot full < they just love it because of the nostalgia. nothing’s changed since 57. original equipment is still here. we did add on to the building but everything’s pretty much the same. including some of the staff. terry and sue worked here as teenagers as carhops. sue’s dad mick ridenour opened the place at rding and kemper as
