Baking with pumpkins
welcome back to san antonio living. this morning we’re showing you how to cook them. >> mary martini is here from central market. >> i’ve never cooked with a real pumpkin. you take all of the flesh out. and you can roast it or boil it. >> then you’re going to mash it just like you would mashed potatoes. or you can get it out of a can. >> i’ve done that. >> this green pumpkin i love. >> it looks like a very large snow-white apple. >> it’s so cute. >> what’s the inside look. green. >> i don’t know. >> we’d have to see inside. >> everybody calls them cinderella pumpkin. it’s actually a cheesecake pumpkin. you need to mix this all together. it’s going to get nice and light pale, and a little bit thick. then we’re going to take our flour mixture. we have some baking powder, and a little bit of salt. i like to whisk my dr ingredients together. >> this way it incorporates them, and starts toera
