some changes aimed at making school lunches healthier for kentucky kids…but is it enough? new research says no… a report shows our kids still have easy access to unhealthy foods in school. you’ll find the article in ‘archives of pediatrics and adolescent medicine’ it says that from 2006 to 2010, about half of public and private elementary students were able to buy unhealthy snacks from school vending machines and snack bars. researchers call the results “intriguing” …and say more work needs to be done to get rid of the unhealthy products at schools. ### junk food in schools-vo-2 many people are commenting on the study’s findings on our abc 36 facebook page. here are some of those comments. brenda mccown says ….i think they should just have nutrition foods in all the schools. not any junk food … because these children don’t need to get to the point to be obese. and samantha roda
