New Farmers Market At Mesa State
a brand new farmer’s market was held at mesa state today. but it’s getting off to a slow start. organizers say that the late growing season is leaving little in the way of fresh fruits and vegetables so far this year. but there was one organic farmer there with peaches, balckberries and cherries. several other vendors were there with hand- made jewelry and wares made from alpaca fur. event organizer emily sanger hopes that the farmers market will not only provide a source of healthy foods to students on campus but also the surrounding community as well. “our whole focus is really to get out that health and wellness aspect, really promote the healthy eating and doing it locally where it’s nice and easily accessible on campus.” sanger says that in the coming weeks, they will have much more in the way of produce as area fruits and vegetable are just starting to ripen. they also have plans t
