Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has sued a St. Louis area butcher, alleging that the business is using fillers in his meat without telling customers.
(christa)missouri’s attorney general has a beef with a butcher shop in st. louis.the shop is accused of unlawfully making a profit by misleading its customers by selling substandard meat.an anonymous tip to the u.s. department of agriculture launched an investigation last fall. sixteen separate tests of ground beef or sausage purchased from both the festus and overland area stores showed beef heart and or soy had been added to the meat. “st. louis area shoppers should be able to trust that the food products they purchase are accurately labeled .”attorney general chris koster is seeking civil penalties, restitution to customers and a restraing order to stop the practice. the store’s owners say they have ánot se the test results. 3
