Make the perfect apple pie
>>> beth howaris sharing with us the secret behind her delicious pies. >> get a nice floured surface. flour below and above your pie dough. start from the midle and rol out toward the edges. we’ll put the pie crust into the dish. i fold in it half, gently lift it up and lay it into the dish, unfold it and make sure that it fits into the edges. now we’re going to repeat the process for the top crust. all right. i’m done peeling my apples, and now this is one of my favorite shortcuts. i don’t mix everything into another bowl, because i hate dirty dishes. i’m going to save myself a dirty dish and put al my ingredients directly in. i slice the apples right there, try to get them to be uniform thickness. that helps in the baking time. you don’t want some thin and some thick. otherwise you’ll come up with some mooshy and some undercooked apples. now a little bit of salt. i don’t measure. that’
