to wpri.com. >> we’re in the kitchen with bakery boutique. st. patrick’s day is right around the corner, but so is st. joseph’s day. >> back-to-back. we have a busy time in the bakery coming up. st. joseph’s day is a staple, you need the baked and the fried. >> and cupcakes. >> if you’re going to the bakery, you need cupcakes. >> what do we need to make these today? >> these are the ingredients, we’re going to make a basic vanilla cupcake. unsalted butter, whole eggs, sugar and whole milk. >> bourbon vanilla? >> the vanilla is so much more stronger with the bourbon in it. with the alcohol, it brings it right out. to make a true extract, they use rum with vanilla beans. they incorporate bourbon into it to kick it up a notch. >> awesome, i like that. what would you call that? >> a filling. a thick yellowy custard cream, egg yokes, sugar, milk, all stuff that’s low fat, of course.
