Eating healthy, buying local and supporting Oregon’s economy all come together at an LCC event on Monday, Feb. 6.
interest these days in buying local. especially when it comes to food. and there are plenty of reasons why. healthy eating. food freshness. supporting oregon’s own economy. you name it. and that’s why l-c-c is hosting an event monday to bring together local farmers, ranchers, & fishermen with area fo buyers – from lane, linn, and benton counties. it’s called the “local food connection.” organizers call it an opportunity to network, sample and education. they say this year’s theme is: “local food equals economic security.” that theme, inspired by a recent report from the u-of-o which showed that a 1-percent increase in spending on local food actually brings in nearly 12- million dollars in extra revenue for lane county. ++elizabeth ++ (27:10-A lot of our products are direct distributed so the farmers or food producers will come in themselves and deliver and we get a chance to meet the
