Ninth annual Empty Bowls event is popular fund-raiser for agency that helps those in need.
was held today at central oregon community college. the event helps raise awareness about hunger issues and had a lot of attendees this year. over 750 hand crafted bowls were created by local potters who donated their time and talents for the event. people who came out today filled a bowlith “delicious” gourmet soup that was cooked by the cascade culinary institute, who have been supplying the soup for all nine of the years the event has been put on. chefs say they cooked over 120 gallons of soup including new fall flavors. as people were eating, they enjoyed acts from local musicians. it was not all about soup though, there was also local bread and dessts. the chef says he enjoys feeding a lot of people and serving his community. ### “when were helping the community, when we’re giving back to the community, the community is stronger. and a strong community that supports its residents, i
