NewsChannel 21’s Nina Mehlhaf and Makayla Zurn talked with several of the top chefs from around the country who served up delicious food at the Sagebrush Classic.
sagebrush classic at broken top golf course. it’s a charity golf tournament, auction and more importantly one of the biggest culinary events of central oregon. 20 chefs from restaurants around the country and even internationally, showed off small plates to the over 1-thousand guests. newschannel 21’s makayla zurn and i talked with a few of them about the event and what they’re excited about in the food world. temperatures were in the upper 80s, the music was hopping, the crowd was dressed to the nines and the food was delicious. this is the sagebrush classic, and some of these chefs have been coming here for years. chef ken frank of la toque restaurant in napa for example. 14:50-15:19 ken frank/la toque- “what’s really important now is that people everywhere are paying attention to local, seasonal, farm to table and it gets over done like all trends do, but it’s a really good direction.
