Cheese Challenge

nA “Wisconsin Cheese Throw Down” — that’s what’s coming up on the evening of May 5th at the Bowers Harbor Inn in Traverse City. The event will feature dishes from chefs, winemakers, and brewers throughout Northern Michigan; the cooks were all challenged to create their best dishes featuring Wisconsin cheeses and pair them with both wine and beer. The prize for the winners will be bragging rights as the champion of what’s being called “the region’s ultimate cheese challenge;” event attendees will help to choose the winners by voting for their favorite food and beverage pairings. Tickets to the event cost $25 per person and include tastings at each of the nine chef tables that are sampling food, wine and beer at the event; you can purchase tickets by calling the Bowers Harbor Inn at 223-4222.n
