Burger Joint Borrows From Popular Chain

a follow up to a to a story we brought you about in-n-out burger a couple of months ago. after getting flooded with questions — we told you that albuquerque won’t be getting an in-n-out anytime soon. but — we’ve learned there’s an in-n-out alternative in the duke city. antoinette antonio shows us if it’s a good substitute … or a knock off. new mexicans craving a juicy cheeseburger… have a new place to stop …… and go. the burger joint near central and old coors… looks reeeeeeallly similar to calfornia’s in-n- out. but wait……. owner julian torrez points out that his arrow points sideways…. a few degrees off from in-n- out’s trademark logo. although he admits…. he is kind of a copycat. i’m hoping that there’s enough people in albuquerque that are familiar with in n out and that the word gets around that there’s something that’s very similar to that and its good for our business and hey… it’s not like it hasn’t been done before…. nats “they’ve got the big mac… i’ve got the big mick.” torrez has been cooking up burgers since he was 15 years old– and he says he knows what people like. he did extensive research on in-n- out– but — he’s quick to point out…. he’s not infringing on copyright laws. “we’re not allowed to call it a double double, we’re not allowed to call it a triple triple, a 4 by 4.” “so what happens if you pull up and try to order one of in-n-outs trademark menu items. hi.. can i get a double- double animal style.. well i can get you a double with cheese and i can beast it for you. double with cheese and he’s gonna beast it.” stop and go’s menu also has wings — but torrez says what really sets him apart from in- n-out… is the new mexico flair. we call it the burque burger.. it’s our green chile cheeseburger antoinette antonio– ewn4. torrez toyed with the idea of naming the restaurant “out-n-in” — but thought that sounded silly.
