Seven Feather Bison Ranch
bison ranch about 1999 when we got our first animal. i had researched the entire operation about three years before then. it was about 15 years ago that i got interested in bison, and i went down to see miracle, the white buffalo, and it was jim heinert that talked to me in janesville that got me interested. we have 41 buffalo. in 1999, we purchased five females and then later purchased two, so all of the heard is from seven animals. and then we changed bulls through the times. the name, seven feather bison ranch, actually came from a friend of mine, bob rutherford, who had a dream. we were teaching about native native americans in school at that time, and he had a dream that we should name it seven feather bison ranch. the seven feathers representig the seven tribes of the iroquois nation. what we do is give the animals good fencing and give them the opportunity to graze on different fi
