Fresh coffee roasted by pedal power and propane
remember in “willy wonka and the chocolate factory” when wonka was in the inventing room and at one point he was singing a little song…”springtime, the only pretty ring time….” while pedaling a stationary bike that in turn was stirring some sort of sweet sugary confection? well, this is kind of like that… only instead of gene wilder mixing up candy, you’ve got alex roth roasting up some coffee. alex decided about four years ago that his java joint in davis, california could stand to go a little greener. and given that davis is a college town, he thought something a little wacky would work well. with bike power produced by alex & his friends and heat generated from propane, coffee beans are freshly roasted. over twenty thousand pounds of coffee have qJ.’uUwW$ñTHIS PROCESS. when complete the coffee is delivered to custómers all around davis. and it’s delivered… on bikes. adli
