back memories of my childhood. a brand new filipino restaurant just opened in nob hill and i gotta say …. it’s right on par with what my parents cooked when i was growing up. at the corner of central and solano in nob hill… is the brand new “filipino kitchen”. nats inside — the kitchen is bustling with lots of grilling .. chopping.. and frying. so what does food from the philippines taste like? its kind of hard to explain just cuz its never been here before. there’s different kinds of stew with our own flavoring we take a lot more time preparing the meat for the different kinds of stew some of the more basic items are lumpia and pancit — or egg rolls and noodles. what we call the best sellers are the barbecue skewers pork on a stick with our own flavoring it’s sweet kare kare is pretty popular and that’s made of peanut sauce. its like a stew with ox ta this right heris going to be
