Bend, Redmond events provided free holiday meals for those in need.
by giving to those in need. more than 20 volunteers prepared a hot breakfast including pancakes and biscuits…followed by a holiday dinner with all the traditional thanksgiving fixings. during the meals, the homeless and hungry were offered clothes and shoes to stay warm in the cold winter weather. this is the first year the bend community center hosted the free meal event. they expected to serve between 5 to 6 hundred people today. volunteers and workers at the community center say thanksgiving is a time of giving. ### “there is nothing worse than having a holiday and having no where to go and no warm food when everyone else is enjoying the day with their family and friends so ya know it was just something we felt we had to do.” the event is sponsored by the hunger prevention coalition but volunteers and donations are still need to help the needy this holiday season. for more informati
