Tomato and Bocconcini Salad
Tomato and Bocconcini Salad is similar to Insalata Caprese however instead of the sliced fresh buffalo mozzarella, bocconchini is used. Instead of large tomatoes, cherry tomatoes are used. The salad is tossed with basil, seasoned with salt, pepper, and olive oil. In Italy, unlike most salads, it is usually served as an antipasto (first course), not a contorno (side dish).
